Export Shape File

Postby cchazer » Sat Mar 26, 2011 4:01 pm

I am using Carlson Survey 2010 - Intellicad 6

I have some simple linework (section lines that I surveyed around 1 square mile) I am trying to export a shape file of the linework, that I will be able to import into ESRI. Here are the steps that I am doing:

1. GIS pulldown menu
2. Export ESRI SHP file
3. Specify name for SHP file (filename.shp) SAVE
4. Select Lines
5. Export Carlson Entities to SHP file dialog box comes up.
dialog box shows "Carlson Open Polylines:12" (these are the 12 lines I am trying to export)

Features used: UNKNOWN

I check the "Export All" check box

I hit "OK"

In the command line it says "Processing entities....." "Extracting GIS Data....."

and nothing else happens. (no files were written to the path I specified)

This is where the software stops working, and I have to Kill Carlson with the Task Manager.

Any Ideas why this is not working?

I'm having the same issue, but with the latest 2017 build on Windows 10. It hangs after selecting [thousands] of points, but seems to work fine with a small number of lines.
Repeated this many times, and I notice that when it shows 0% for more than a few seconds while writing the shape file -- it's definitely going to lock up.

Anyone find a workaround for this yet?
