Joe,
Simply pull down the SETTINGS menu, choose EDIT SYMBOL LIBRARY, and then
either add (IMPORT) symbols to an existing category, or create a new
category such as USER SYMBOLS and import blocks into that category. The
blocks you will import are simply existing DWG files stored on disk and
may come from anywhere. You can also CREATE new symbols from entities in
your current drawing file which creates a new block for your symbol.
You should be aware, however, that you need to think about the size of the
elements in the blocks. Ideally, they should be drawn at a 1:1 ratio at an
overall unit size of 1 unit. This way, when you set the SYMBOL SIZE SCALER
item in various dialogs, you will set them to say 0.1 for a 1/10th inch
symbol. The SYMBOL SIZE SCALER value (0.1 in this example) gets multiplied
by the drawing horizontal scale (say 50), and is inserted into the drawing
at 5 units height.
Hope this helps,

First thing first I am strictly a novice when it comes to Carlson
software,
my background is LDD. We run the Carlson suite with AutoCAD 2007.
During
training we were told we could create a symbol library for all of our
details (200+) so they can be view in a pulldown menu. It's great we
were
told we could do this but we weren't shown how. Can anyone help me with
this and provide me the steps to accomplish a library?
Thanks!
