Mapping with the Mini2
Posted: Fri Mar 31, 2017 5:35 pmI replaced my old collector last year with a shiny new Mini with the embedded GPS.I thought it would be nice to have for geo-referencing photos and doing recon work with SPC's.
Since I'm also big on sailing and marine navigation I thought the Mini would be a great platform on which to do this. It has to be one of most rugged handhelds available. Anything Garmin or Magellan makes could not ever approach it's durability. So I'm thinking what about using digital versions of charts ( or topo maps) on a Mini ( or similar collector) and having the ultimate handheld mapper out there?
I would be curious if any of you folks have tried using any of the commercial mapping software on your collectors for this purpose?
