Can the Carlson Explorer II data collector be equipped with Bluetooth
wireless communication to a Topcon Hiper Lite + rover?

Jeff:

I am sure that it can based on what I have read in the documentation.
The quick start guide tells how to get it going with topcon gps. You can
get a bluetooth card or have it installed from the factory. The Carlson
folks, I believe, will verify this.
I was hesitant to reply, but I just got an Explorer II, and I am excited
about the possibilities. I'm not using it with GPS yet.

I have been using TDS on a 48 and I am learning Survce. It interfaces
well with existing carlson software packages. The 600+ page manual is
intimidating, but it is a powerful program.

good luck,

Terry and Jeff,

Yes the Explorer II can be equipped with on-board BlueTooth. There is a
additional charge of $400.00 to get the on-board but there is a advantage to
it. If you get the built in option your CF slot in the top of the Explorer
is still open for a memory card if you ever need it. Also it will work with
the Topcon Hyper Lite + rover and base.

Thanks,
