Carlson Surveyor+ with a Leica Robot

Is anyone using the new Carlson Surveyor+ with a Leica Robot?

The specifications say that it can host a Cirronet radio, Maxstream radio, or Futaba radio
It also mentions Spread Spectrum Radio – 900 Mhz and Spread Spectrum Radio – 2.4 Ghz 3G

Are any of those compatible with what the Leice gun uses internally?

No Carlson Surveyor+ with Leica Robot at this time...

Hello,

At this time the Carlson Surveyor+ data collector does not have a Radio Pack Module that is compatible with the Built-in radio inside the Leica 1200 or Leica 1100 Robotic instruments.

By 'at this time' are there plans to create that solution for the Carlson Surveyor+ or is my upgrade path for my 3 aging Allegro CX going to be to the Allegro MX? Am I right in assuming that the MX has a Leica radio capability? I'm interested in a faster processor to run additional software and make upgrades to older DCs.

I had a Leica Robot 1100 series and used it with TDS and had so many problems I sold the Leica for a huge loss. The problems I had were very similar to yours, I think there is a good chance the problem is with the robot and the data it sends to the handheld. Not with the explorer and Survce. We now have a geodimeter robot and use the exporer and Survce with out the problems you mention.

I am not exactly sure when Leica GeoSystems will be offering the robotic radio modem expansion pod for the Allegro MX Field PC like with previous Allegro models. I know they were targetting the end of this year or the beginning of next year. You may want to contact them to see if they can provide you with current status and other details about this specific application development for the Allegro MX.

Please let me know if you need further assistance or have additional questions.
