drawing1

Postby Jon Baker » Tue Aug 21, 2001 2:26 am

what is survcad doing at start up? i try to close drawing1 and i get
prompted to save changes.. this does not happen to me when i open
AutoCAD
with the default AutoCAD profile. i would like this to stop if possible.

i have noticed that core AutoCAD will automatically close drawing1 if
you
open a drawing from the file pull down history... and the survcad
profile
will not do this due to the changes that are being made.

We've beat this one around before, but no resolution was made if I
remember
correct. It was happening to me as well, but I've noticed recently that
it
has stopped doing this to me within Survcadd. I don't remember making
any
sort of change, but I'm not complaining. I'll see if I can figure out
what's
changed on my computer.

well the only thing i know is this...

AutoCAD profile drawing one will close with out the "save" prompt
Survcad profile drawing1 will not close with out the "save" prompt being
displayed..

i think it has something to do with the configure survcad thing and the
fact
that i did configure it to my way... so i guess i need to change some
lisp
around, but since they are all fas files and i can not open them.. i am
s.o.l.

oh well...

Loading SurvCADD does in fact modify the initial drawing. Investigate
the DBMOD system variable. I'm
not sure what sysvar's we are modifying or why. I will try to provide
more information soon.

In the meantime, if you want to start SurvCADD with no initial drawing,
use Terry's solution found
at http://www.dotsoft.com under AutoCAD Tips and Tricks titled "Starting
AutoCAD 2000 with no
starting drawing"

if
you add yes to the code, AutoCAD returns unknown function. oh well...

but in the mean time i will look at dbmode
