all survcad blocks to zero layer...

if i convert all the survcad drawing (pntmarks) to the zero layer will
that
mess anything up???

What do you mean 'convert'? The symbols included with CES are all on
layer
zero. They may be inserted on a certain layer, but the entities
themselfs
are on layer zero.

Let me know if I am not understanding you correctly.

i must have opened a drawing that was made with an earlier version.

i tried to edit the point block "SPT12" in a drawing and it was on layer
survey-symbol but when i refedit it, the block was one pntsym layer or
something not 0. but like i said it could have been a different version
of
survcad or even another civil software package.

Jon,
Prior to CES, SPT symbols were created on a non-zero layer. Maybe it
was a drawing started in SC2000.
