Remove Polyline Arcs

Postby Terry Scanlon » Wed Nov 07, 2001 9:50 pm

I have posted a dwg in customer files. It contains a polyline on
layer -c-pkng-curb. A duplicate of this polyline is on -c-topo-bkln. I
execute
the REMOVE POLYLINE ARCS command on the second polyline. The program
prompts
for an offset cutoff. Help states "This is the maximum the any point on
the arc
will be allowed to shift. " I enter 0.05 for a cutoff distance. Yet,
when I
inverse from various locations on the arc perpendicular to the chords on
the
"straightened" polyline, distances are greater than 0.05 all over the
place.

Do I missunderstand the command or is there something wrong?

After fiddling a bit more with this, it appears there may be an error of
a
decimal space. If I enter 0.01, all distances are under 0.10.

Terry,

The short term fix is to specify value lower than you want (as you
mentioned 0.01 instead of 0.1). I have reported this and the programmers
are looking at it, although I may not get an answer as fast as the last
problem. Thanks for your patience.
