MS Word in Legal Description writer

Postby Randy A. Weaver » Thu Jan 10, 2002 7:21 am

Is it highly suggested that one should reinstall SurvCADD if another Microsoft product is installed, say for instance Microsoft Project.  I have an installation of SurvCADD CES (with COGO installed), that is having a problem attaching to Microsoft Word with the Legal Description writer tool.  It worked fine before they installed the Microsoft Project, but I wasn't sure if my memory was correct, but I remember seing somewhere that if you install or reinstall a Microsoft product that you would most likely need to reinstall SurvCADD (and any other MS Office dependent software for that matter) to make it work correctly, is this correct or not?

Is the MSWord option grayed out? If so, I believe that this routine simply
looks for a particular file that exists only if MSWord is installed. If this
file is there, then the MSWord option is available. Maybe Project killed
this file???

If it is failing to open word and pump the data, then check to see if you
are running Norton AV. NAV installs a file that prevents MSWord from firing
up when called from another application. There is a workaround on
http://support.microsoft.com (Sorry, I don't know the exact link)
