Help with drawing settings for metric jobs

Would some please advise me about drawing setup for a metric job? One
particular project I'm working on is a DOT job, all in metric. It seems that
whatever settings I choose, my points show up on the screen so
microscopically small. Obviously, I'm still a novice so any help will be
greatly appreciated
