This is not a SurvCADD specific question, but a general ACAD setup question.
The thread may be useful to other Carlson users though, so that is why I'm
posting here....
I'm using AutoCAD 2002 with Survcadd XML and setting up a multi sheet
template for company wide use. The template is for a typical plan set
containing site plan, utility, road profile, boundary survey, etc. Each
sheet is a separate layout all within the same drawing, with an mview
reference to the linework drawn in model space.
In each layout, I have created a paper space border and an attributed block
for title block info. This way, anybody can use the edit attribute command
and sequentially edit all the relevant info in one dialog box for that
layout. Everything is then placed properly in the title block at the correct
location, text height and style, etc. So far so good.....
Problem is, doing it this way, you have to enter/change the info on each
layout sheet rather than making the change once and having it applied to all
other layout sheets. This is ok for info specific to that layout sheet, but
I am looking for a way to have title block info that is common to all sheets
appear on each sheet automatically, having to only be entered once.
Anybody know a good, simple way to do this within the template? I need to
keep this as automated as possible, since we will have users throughout the
company utilizing the template. I am thinking a couple of attributed blocks,
one with layout specific info and the other with info common to all sheets.
It seems like there should be a way to internally reference a block from
other layout sheets, similar to referencing data in one cell and having it
display in another cell(s) in a spreadsheet.
Thanks
Tom
