File --> open = no dialog box !! SOLVED !!

Carlson 2008 Standalone.

When I try File --> Open I get a freeze up and no dialog box.
If I hit the escape key Carlson unfreezes.

I get the same results when I try File --> Save

Any ideas on why this is happening.

Check to see if the "FILEDIA" variable is set to 1.

Just type in FILEDIA, to check. If it returns 0 as its value just type in 1 and then enter.

Thanks for your speedy reply!
I ended up reinstalling the software 3 times to no avail. I would delete the user settings and everything I could find associated with Carlson. Still nothing.
The 4th time I searched through the registry and deleted everything that I found under Edit --> Search that refered to Carlson.

Then I downloaded a version of Carlson 2008 from
http://update.carlsonsw.com/updates.php?product=CarlsonSurvey&version=2008.

I installed that version and all was well.
