Speed - Intellicad 32 bit vs Autocad 64 bit

I use Carlson Civil 2012 running on Intellicad 32 bit software. My system is windows 7 64 bit running on a quad core processor.

Some of the tasks take a long time and I notice that IntelliCAD only uses 1 of the 4 processors.

How about running Carlson on AutoCAD 64 bit. Do users find that substantially quicker and does AutoCAD use all 4 processors.

Also. will IntelliCAD 7 ( If it ever get released!) use multiple processors?

I also use BricCAD which is fast, stable, well supported and runs multiple processors.

Cheers
John

I am new to iCAD and Carlson, but mine runs slow like it was made in the 90's... when I freeze multiple layers they do not disappear, but they look as if they are un-drawn one at a time... like the program is being run by a hamster on a wheel. A regular old quick save is like 25-30 seconds.

The iCAd interface looks totally Windows 95. I hope the 7point.whatever release brings iCAD into 2012.

"like the program is being run by a hamster on a wheel"

Couldn't be described any better!

I can't give an answer on the speed difference but AutoCAD is not multi-threaded software.

You can have 100 processors but it's only going to use one of them.
