OK, is the verdict out on this release yet, particularly the Intellicad 7.1?
Any cheers or jeers?
thanks.

I have had limited opportunity to date. I have adopted a policy now that if I have a crash with the a new upgrade I go straight back to my previous version. Unlike the previous Intellicad upgrades the 7.1 crashes have been less monumental.

I have just installed the most recent upgrade and have had limited use to date. I have found that there is an obvious improvement in the speed of the program with 7.1.

From my point of view the most signficant improvements are the catch ups with autocad,

1.viewports with polygons are now possible,
2.Clayer now works
3.Turning on and off multiple layers within layout tabs using select all now works.
4. There is a properties window which is similar to Autocad, a basic form of the same. However, it is very slow to come up on the screen

So at this point I would be giving a a warm(?) round of applause. I may get to stand up and cheer if I get through a week without a crash. Or I may wait for the next act. But I certainly wont be getting up and storming out.

Lasted 3 hours before a lock up occurred. Inversing between points and the screen locked. I had used the same function many times throughout the day.

So I am back to 2011 for the moment, awaiting the next act/upgrade.

I think the wait is nearly over. The latest patches have made significant improvements. I have not had to revert to 2011 for about a month now. The crashes, hang ups have really dropped off. As more users test out the full extent of the options some problems will no doubt still pop up. I have had a 100% response from Leonid and the rest of the team in sorting through the issues. So I am sure any lingering problems will be quickly resolved.

The fully functional 2012 release will happen soon, and I commend the skeptics to give it a try. There is a significant speed improvement in most operations.

That sounds good, I'm looking forward to it.
I've been using my 2009 version Survey w/ embedded acad, but waiting to switch over to the full civil suite once Icad extermination has been moderately successful.
