express tool works only once - then have to restart program

I get this error:
Command:
MSTRETCH
(*pop-error-mode*) underflow.
Cannot invoke (command) from *error* without prior call to (*push-error-using-command*).
Converting (command) calls to (command-s) is recommended.
Command:
its a express tool - Multi stretch
generally it works once or a few times then I get this error. I have to restart the program to use it again.
Any ideas or what I may be doing wrong
