I work on Carlson Survey with Embedded AutoCAD 2018. When I click on a previous hatching the entire program crashes. There is no error message.

How do I fix this issue, it is causing a lot of lost work

I don't use embedded but
Is this happening when you first select the hatch or double click?
For all hatch entities in al drawings?
Does running AUDIT command help at all?
Are the hatch entities created as associative? (grouped with boundary entities)

I have solved problems with particular drawings in the past by saving to an old ASCII DXF format (ie R12) then open the DXF and save as a current DWG again.
