cg-spline

Postby Dick » Wed Dec 05, 2001 11:09 pm

I'm trying to connect a series of points with a curve-fit line that goes through all the points which I assume means to use a cg-spline. I cannot find where to do that except under Draw/Fit polylines. When I try to use that my computer locks and I have to get out of CG-Win and restart.
This was easy in DOS .....(snivel, snivel)

I think what you want to do is go to EditPolyline from the Modify menu.. then click on one of the line segments.. then click on YES turn into polyline
Then click on Join.. and then select all the lines you want to join.. then hit enter or rt click...

This was easy in DOS...

now you can put the CG spline to it

Hope that helps..

(ACAD USERS)--If you want to "curve-fit" it, after turning it into a polyline and joining the segments, you should click "Properties", select the polyline, and click on "quadratic" or "spline" under the "Smooth Edge" section of the properties box

Its still easy to draw a spline through particular points. Just plot the points along the curve on the screen and set entity snap to "point". Now click on the "spline" button of the "draw 2D" tool bar and click on the points that you plotted. After clicking on the last point of the curve hit the "enter" key three times and the spline will be drawn. Hope this helps

A way to perform that automaticaly is by using the mapping descriptions, i.e. cf*ep1 at the eyeball pc and a few shots on arc then cf*ep1 at the end of the arc. Then map jus that descriptor
