Plotting Layers

I have several layers in a drawing that have hatched areas. When I want to plot the areas I may want a certain layer to plot overtop of another one. How do I control the order that each layer is plotted

Two ways I can think of there may be more, I copy the item in the rear I want in front and place it back on top.
Other way is draworder command type draworder at cad command line and select front or back
