Plotting on a HI Jet Pro 50 from Intelicad for windows

Postby Duane Forney » Tue Jun 18, 2002 4:46 am

Say Larry P. I reply to your message back in May
about using C&G for dos. I still am like alot of the old C&G users, I really like the old program and use it quite abit. I do have the latest and greatest C&G Survey for windows with
intelicad 98. Two questions. The first one is the plotting to the Jet Pro. I need a driver to run in Windows XP Home addition. Where can I find one? 2. An engineer from one of the engineering firms I survey for in Portland sent me two files from Autocadd 2001. They were Zipped so I unzipped them first. Tried to open them in Intellicad 98 with C & G Survey. They will not open into a drawing!!
Can anyone give me some help? Thanks.

Duane,

No one was a bigger fan of the Dos program than I. Still time moves on and once I made the committment to move to the Intellicad product there is no way I would go back. There are so many things I can do much better.

Now for your questions. About the driver, I can't help you there. The last word I got was that the good folks at Carlson/C & G were saying that their software wasn't yet compatible with WinXP. Now this isn't to say that it won't work, just that they cant say for sure that it will work. If I were you I would go to this web site http://www.wopr.com/cgi-bin/w3t/wwwthreads.pl This is a message board (totally free and no spam comes your way when you sign up). You can go to the WinXP section and post a message there. Likely someone will be able to help you.

As for the AutoCad question, I have very very little experience with AutoCad but I understand that ACad 2001 isn't compatible with previous versions. You might try having the engineer save the file as an R14 version and send it again.

Now, Duane, a question for you. Does the Dos product work on your WinXP machine? My guess is not. Or if it does sorta work I bet you are unable to print a map or coordinates and unable to dump coords from or too a data collector.

Good Luck
Larry

Larry is right about the AutoCAD problem. We downloaded a copy of Intellicad 2001 and use it to open AutoCAD 2000 drawings and then save them as release 14 so we can use them in C&G for Windows

Larry P: It's been about 3 weeks since your e-mail to me on the c&g for dos and whether or not it works on windows XP (home addition). By friend and computer guru from Intel, and myself
has gotten it to work complete, including printing, plotting on the HI Pro 50. The only thing I can't do is zoom with the mouse that I have which is a microsoft intellimouse 5 button.
I can't get either one of the side buttons to program to do the zoom in dos.
