Inserting text from other software

Postby HogPilot » Fri Aug 02, 2002 7:28 am

I have spent that last number of hours trying to insert text, from word
processing programs, into an Intellicad drawing. I have downloaded the
appropriate support document from C&G's tech support site. To no particular
avail. The best I have come up with is using MTEXT. However, as you may
know, you can't do anything with the text once its within the drawing. The
other method I tried (INSERT command) did indeed insert the document into
the drawing but it shows up as black text on a white backround (just as it
appeared in the word processing software) all against the black drawing
backround. What I want to do is insert the TEXT from a word processing
document onto the face of my drawing, not insert the document itself, as a
block (apparently).

Any ideas?

What did you want to do with the text once it is in the drawing?

I tried using MTEXT to create the text and it worked OK. I then used the
MOVE command to move the text to a new location. Then I used DDMODIFY to
edit the text.

I do this all the time with no problems
In your word program just select the text
and Ctrl-C to copy then paste into the Mtext
box. You CAN then edit it later if you choose.
YOu will loose any formatting.. so keep it simple
and edit later in ICad.
