CG 7 Network version?

Postby CG User » Thu Mar 03, 2005 9:19 pm

Does anyone in this newsgroup have knowledge of & experience with the
network version of CG Survey 7?

A salesman told us that such a version exists, for $500 over the cost of
the regular edition and can be run on up to 5 networked computers.
Does this sound correct?

There is nothing about a network version that I could find on the
Carlson Software Online Store.

If it exists, am I correct in assuming that it is a different program
than the CG 7 download--one that is specially tweaked for network
use--and not just the same program with a multi-user license? The
reason I'm guessing it's a different program that must be installed is
because the CG 7 manual (largely reprinted from the CG 6 manual) says on
page 1-13: "Note: DO NOT install to a network drive! If others run the
program from the network drive it WILL cause data corruption."

This is a cause for concern, which is why I'm asking for any firsthand
knowledge on the network edition..

At the present time there is no network version for any C&G product. We do
anticipate releasing a network license option in out next major release. I
hope you're not too terribly upset with the delay, but we just don't have
one right now.
