Ephemeris data

Postby Kelly Bellis » Sun Nov 04, 2001 2:40 pm

Hi,

A friend of mine in Houlton, Maine who has C&G software (DOS) asked me to help teach him and his company to do solar observations. Earlier this week, I drove up there and gave a little half day workshop for their local chapter. Kip's C&G software looked to be about 10 years old and I was concerned that the ephemeris data should be checked and updated if needed. Kip records his data by hand in a field book and does not use a data collector

I've read Chapter 18: Solar Observation (37k) from the CG-SURVEY for DOS User Guide but haven't found the answers.

Now the questions; 1) is there any way for the GHA, declination and the semi-D at zero hours for any given day to be displayed in the DOS program? and 2) does Kip need to update his software in order to calculate accurate solar observations?

Thank you for any reply.

Kelly
