New User Needs Help

we are learning how to use C&G for windows and are in the beginner tutorial. we are on page 2-8 and have the cgr raw data file created. when we go to "select options" from the menu bar, the "traverse options" screen does not come up and we lose our cursor. then have to exit the program because nothing works.

any suggestions
