duplicate handles

We saved a drawing file and when we went to re-open it we got a message "duplicate handles". We clicked the "OK" box and it kicks us out.
We tried renaming the .SV$ file and got the same message when we tried to open it.
Of course, duplicate handles does not show if you check the help file.

Can anyone help with this matter

You don't mention what you use for a Cad engine but assuming
it is AutoCAD: run the recover utility if you can't open the file,
or audit if you can. If you have IntelliCAD I'm not sure these
commands are supported. Alternatively I'll try to post a link to a tech support
website that has a suggestion (again if you use AutoCAD).
Good luck . .
Pete

Jeff,

We were able to contact someone with AutoCad and they opened an resaved the file for us.

Thanks for your suggestion and help
