Windows 2000 Pro

Postby Larry P » Fri Jan 18, 2002 4:53 pm

I have a new computer running Windows 2000 Pro. I am trying to set it up so that I can occationally run the old DOS program. I need this at times to convert old PL files to dxf files. I know I need to change the Autoexec.nt and the config.nt files. But, I am not sure right now just what changes exactly need to be made. Is there anyone out there who has hit upon the right commands in these files to get the old Dos working

Larry,
I am not sure about changing your autoexec.nt files.
when I upgrade to 2000pro the dos program ran fine. The
only thing I had to was to change the window properties
to allow for full screen use. you need to right click on
the top bar of the window and go to properties. Under options
check full screen and under layout change both hieghts to 25
click Ok and you will get a popup box, check save properties for future
windows with the same title and clck OK. Just a quiick note
The driveers for the hardware lock do not work well in dos mode
It take me approx 30 sec to get into and out of the dos program, but
once in it works fine. Good luck<br
