Creating a standard set of layers

I attempted to create layers but each set is job specific. Where can I go and edit/create my own cg_desc.tbl and cg_desc.tbx

Go to crd-mngmt>description table and edit it there. It however asigns specific descriptiors to layers and symbols. To create the layers one needs a drawing to work as a template. I have found the quickest way to accomplish both was to work on my description table with a dummy coordinate file open. When I create a new description and realize I need a new layer I simply store a point with that description in manual storage. This creates the layer and I only need to go into the layer explorer to change the color of the layer and the linetype
