Yet another gray hair...

I forgot about the Winline driver and downloaded the HP driver for my plotter. Once I figured out the line widths everything seemed fine. Then I noticed that every time I plot, the plotter changes the print quality to final no matter what the print preference is set to. Using Winline and Windows 98 we always set the quality at the plotter. The HP driver has a setting but it seems to ignore any setting and plots in final. We plot all worksheets and check plots in draft and the final plat in enhanced mode. Any ideas?
TIA,
Stac

The plotter should have a setting to let the software override the default... my .0

My thoughts also. It's weird that I can set it to plot draft or final, but not enhanced. When I set the software to enhanced, the plotter switches to final. I wish I could just set it manually at the plotter the way we did with Win '98

I did the same thing yesterday. Upgraded to Win 2000 and could not load the winline driver. I also have a Design 220. Our plotter is set up to set line widths by color, as required in DOS. As you know, the winline driver would allow this also in WIN 98. I guess I'll have to change my plotter to be software controlled

I'm happy with 98.. just when I get everything working fine.. Bill decides we need a new OS
The last time I went from 3.1 to 98 (skipped 95) and had to replace a perfectly good plotter for the lack of a driver now its been ME, 2000, XP ???
I also gave up on the winline driver long ago and have been using the HP/Win98 driver.. works grea
