Light plots

When I plot with CG Win 5.50.04 the plots come out very light. My OS is WIN 2000. This happens on my local printer (HP laserjet 4P) and both of my network plotters (HP Designjet 220 and HP Designjet 500).

This doesn't occur if I use another program with the printer or plotters. They then print with the right contrast. If I copy the CG .dwg file to my other computer, the plot comes out with the right contrast. My other computer has CG 50.10.13 with WIN 98

Bob check out your pen widths under cad tolls>file>print> then go to color width map tab at top this is where the pen widths are set. You can load a pen file you have set on the other machines under the advanced tab setup load and save. Save it on the other machine and then load it on the new machine. They are name.pcp files I have a few that I use so that I am campatible with companies I sub contract for. In addition you should check what setup you have the plotter\printer on under scale view tab p[rint setup

The pen widths plot properly, but the entire plot comes out very light, like a half tone. I've checked all of the setups and they are just like my WIN 98 computer. I think this problem has something to do with Intellicad and WIN 2000

Bob somewhere in your printer driver setup is a grayscale switch I would go into printer setup under the plot screen (cad tools>file>print and then the dialog box that comes up) and search for a grayscale setting. Another way to handle this (one that I use on my zerox printer) is to setup output colors as black or gray if you do want soem shaded, I shade my fences for example so they wont override the boundary lines
