CG 2000/mapcheck

I'm using CG 2k with AutoCAD and one difference from the old one is that
when I edit a mapcheck file, I cannot do any editing in AutoCAD. In the
older version, I can edit in AutoCAD and edit the file in the DOS
window...but with the new CG 2k window, I can't. Is there any way around
this. I would like to edit in AutoCAD and CG simultanously. Right now, I
use the older version just because of this.
