about saving files

I am running C&G for Windows with IntelliCAD. The software is a few years
old, the version number is 5.00.02. Through the years I downloaded patches
form the C&G web site and now have the patch 5.10.13., so I guess that is
now the version I am running.

I have never been able to save a job file so it would remember the options
when it was next opened. My default settings are for feet, no elevations,
certain roundings, etc. Some of my work is in metric and I want the file to
open with the proper metric settings and rounding settings. How do I do
that???

Another thing! Several patches ago there was a tool bar added that allows
for buttons for INVERSE, INTERSECTS,and TRAVERSE. I think the tool bar was
called COGO. I had to reformat my computer several months ago and I haven't
seen that tool bar since. I have installed the 5.10.13 patch and even
downloaded the patch again. What am I doing wrong?

Bill,

On the options issue, your problem is likely your prototype drawing. Drawing 1
which comes up when you open the program is a copy of your prototype drawing.
Changing Drawing1 WILL NOT change your prototype drawing. So, the next time
you start Intellicad, the setting will be the same as before. You need to make
the wanted changes in your prototype drawing. But be sure when you make these
changes to the prototype drawing, you shut down ICad and restart the program.
Do not continue to work after making the changes. If you have a program crash
before a normal exit, your changes will not become affective.

One last thing, I conduct Intellicad training classes. If you can put together
several folks in your area that need the training, I will be glad to come give
a class.
