Due to AutoCAD version conflicts with some of our clients, I am finally
biting the bullet and upgrading from C&G for Windows in Intellicad98 to
CG-SURVEY for AutoCAD 2002. Installation and authorization of AutoCAD
2002 have gone flawlessly. As usual (most of you know what is coming
next), when I install the C&G software I start having problems. I am
using WindowsXP Home Edition.
After the C&G logo appears, I get a program (not operating system) error
message stating that the serial number is either invalid or missing, and
C&G is being terminated. A box to re-enter the serial number pops up,
but entry of the AutoCAD product serial number just makes an 'invalid
serial number' message pop back up. Although the C&G pulldowns remain
on the screen, none of them work.
I see from the message board that I will need to do something additional
to make XP recognize the hardware lock, but I'm not even getting to the
'demo mode' notice. It craps out before that. This appears to be a
problem with C&G communicating properly with AutoCAD 2002. Anybody else
had this problem?
