New C&G Survey 6.0 with AutoCad

Postby Ronald E. McCarthy LS » Mon May 05, 2003 8:55 pm

I just recieved the new C&G 6.0 with AutoCad.

After installation certain commands weren't available in the Autocad
drop down menus (i.e. Dimension, Draw Ellipse, Match Properties...) so
I located them by right-clicking on the toolbar and pulling the icons
out of Customize.

Even though there are icons for these and many other commands that I
used to use everyday, the icons are inactive.

Also, there doesn't seem to be a way to load lisp files. Did I just
lose all the lisp files that I collected for my other program by
upgrading, or does C&G plan to release patches?

Please Help.

You'll find that there are many things you can't do that you could with
Icad....

Stacy,

I too just switched from Intellicad to the C&G Survey 6.0 product. While I
have not had much experience with ACAD type products (being a reformed CG
for DOS user), I was getting along reasonably well enough for drawing
boundary and topo drawings.

Some questions.....
Where is the settings menu? I would like to have some control over the size
of arrowheads on leaders (when using the DIM/LEADER command).

And is there any way to control the SHAPE of the arrow on a C&G leader? Sure
are ugly when first drawn.

Crap, I can't even figure out how to list the available ACAD commands, and
there is no online help (I just get a message that I am missing a file on
the computer).

Thanks for any insight.

Chuck,

I haven't answered those questions yet either. I was told that online
help is not available yet?!?! That's kinda weird. I haven't started
using it full time yet.... probably won't for a while. Maybe they'll
have some issues worked out soon. I hope you have better luck getting
calls and emails returned than I have had lately. I did find some really
neat linetypes that work in the new CG. Email me if you want to try them.

I'm a little late with this, but I noticed the same thing...why would all
the regular AutoCAD commands be taken away? I have to type "DDEDIT" to edit
text where I used to write "ED"...and the "CH" (change properties command)
doesn't work as well, which is really frustrating. Anyway, I'll read on and
see what's up.

That is by design. Not every command is available in AutoCAD OEM.

Lisp files will definitly not work This is AutoCAD OEM, which supports ZERO customization.
