Carlson Survey XML R2 Vs. CG Survey

Postby Ugly Bob » Thu Nov 06, 2003 6:55 am

We just received a C&G With Autodesk tech. demo disk from you along with a
brochure detailing all of your products and I have several questions. The
brochere shows many, many features associated with XML R2 but the page
showing C&G says that it's inexpensive, powered with Autodesk Technology
and has a nice Least Squares program. I would like to see a list as is shown
for the XML product or is the C&G the same as it ever was? Our office is
still using C&G DOS and feel that the move to another C&G product would be
an easier transition assuming that the COGO routines are similar. I'm sure
that there have been many changes since DOS but I personally have used the
C&G Intellicad98 product and find the COGO somewhat familiar to the DOS
version. I must also assume that the CAD engine for these two products (the
new C&G and XML R2) is Acad LT. Are the CAD engines exactly the same for the
two products? If I was used to using Icad98 will I feel that the Acad LT. is
lacking? I could not find a comparison chart anywhere listing what CAD
function are missing with the LT. program. Tonight I visited your website
and now see Carlson Survey 2004. Is this a different product that XML R2?
Also, if this is utilizing the new Acad LT. program will this be availible
for the C&G product soon? As you can tell we have waited far too long to
upgrade but we've waited this long and I don't want to fill our office with
software that will be "old news" in just a few short months. Thank you for
your time.
