CG DOS - XP - Lock Failure

Postby Jess » Fri Dec 19, 2003 12:24 pm

I have been running CG DOS in WinXP for about 6 months now without any major
problems (except for extremely long lag when navigating from the main menu)
and suddenly today, it decides that it doesn't want to recognize the
hardware lock and will only run in demo mode. I tested the hardware lock on
another PC and it works fine. Does anyone have a solution to this problem?
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Jess, I didn't even know that CG DOS would work at all in XP. I have XP
on one computer and WIN 2000 on 2 others. I have not tried running CG DOS
in XP. My understanding is that XP uses the printer ports differently and
this is what causes the problem.

I can run CG DOS on the WIN 2000 computers, but do experience the same lag
when navigating the menu. When I run the dos version using the 'Start' and
'run', I don't have this lag. Weird.

I have had no problem running CG-DOS in XP. I use it everyday, with a
hardware lock and multiple peripherals.
