AutoCad Help

I am having the same problem with "help" in C&G 6.0 with Autodesk as some
others. One post stated trying to copy the help file from the CD to the C&G
directory. I did that, but I still get a dialog box stating that C&G Survey
Online Help is Unavailable. I even tried reloading the program using the
newest 6.1 disk I have. Still no help. Please send "Jim Dandy to the
rescue."

Mr. Hardin and others,

The list price for CG Survey 6 is approximately $3000 less than for CG
for AutoCad. Part of the reason for that is AutoDesk (writers and
owners of AutoCad) have allowed Carlson/CG to use a "reduced commands"
version of AutoCad. When paying $3000 less for the product, you have to
expect to give up something. Its my understanding that one of the
things we give up is online Help. There are some other things not
available in CG Survey 6 that are available in CG for AutoCad; however,
I find that mostly they arent things I use anyway. When I need help, I
refer to my CG Survey 6 owners manual, or to an AutoCad 2002 users manual.

Good luck with CG Survey 6. I use it and love it. If you need or want
a class or training, call me at 336-246-4887.

According to Michele in a thread below, the online help is included on the CD, you just have to copy the directory onto your HDD manually, then it works.

Yes, I read Michele's post. That's where I got the idea. But my help still
won't work. Thanks anyway.

I gathered that from your post Mr. Hardin.

My post was in response to Mr. Phipps, who said

You can access help by copying the help file from the C&G disk to your hard
drive and then type "help" at the command prompt rather than using the F1
key. It worked for me.
