File Associations and C&G

Greetings,

When I double click a drawing, from Windows Explorer, in Windows 2000 Pro,
Autocad 2002 opens, and shows the cgmenu tool bar, but none of the commands
work. When I look at the property information for the CG icon, it shows
that you are loading CG on the command line. In R14 of CAD, it loaded after
cad was loaded. How can I get 2002 to do that, so that I can have my CG
loaded when I double click a drawing file?

Tony,
We changed the way we load CG Survey when we moved from R14 to the
2000+ versions of AutoCad. "If you choose to start your AutoCad this way,
you'll need to run the "appload" command and load "cg2000a.arx" from the
"C:\Program Files\CGSurvey for AutoCAD 2000\" directory after AutoCad 2002
opens.

John,

Can I automate the process, instead of having to type appload, and find the
file everytime that cad starts?

Tony,
I found this in an old CG for AutoCad manual:

Auto-Loading CG-SURVEY
If you want CG-SURVEY to load automatically whenever you open AutoCAD,
follow the
steps below to modify the file which opens AutoCAD.
AutoCAD Release 14
Using your favorite text editor (i.e., Notepad, Wordpad, Word for Windows)
open a
new file, type: c:\cg4ac\cgsurv14.exe. Save this file as ACAD.ADS in the
AutoCAD
14 program folder.
