Inserting Raster Image in CG 6.1

Hey folks,

I know this discussion has been had before, but I cannot find any info on
it. I am able to insert a raster image OK. My problem is that any additions
I make to it in CG (such as hatching the SITE, and adding road names, etc.)
will not print. Most of the time I cannot even see my additions on the
screen. However, if I move the raster image aside, my additions are
uncovered. How does one cause the raster image to not cover up vector
entities within it?

Thanks,
Chuck Sharp

Chuck,
I'm not sure what commands are available to you in CG6.1 versus full
AutoCad, but if available, make sure that "image transparency" is "on"
(modify>object>image>transparency). Also it helps to put the image into the
drawing early in the work flow, because regens redraw objects generally from
earliest to latest with later objects covering up former. If available, you
can send the image "back" behind other objects in the display order
(tools>display order>send to back). Sometimes clearing the regens sort
order box in tools>options>user preferences helps also. Regen often!

Good luck,
gc

Chuck,

Go to the TOOLS pulldown menu and choose DISPLAY ORDER. Pick your
linework/hatching, hit enter. Then type A for above. Then pick the
reference object (the image).
