Road design using carlson 2004

Is there a clear and easy tutorial, or even help files, or a manual that
would explain the process of road design in a step by step method? I am
getting extremly frustrated with the polyline to centerline to profile
process that, as of yet, has to produce a single profile drawing.

I can get the sheet drawn (no profile) and the centerline file appears to
acqurie the elevations of the polyline that represents the centerline, but I
am beginning to feel like something is buggy in the software. But since I
don't have anything that shows me what to expect, except for the tutorials
that are supplied which apparently do not correspond with my software since
the commands that are called for are NOT available in my version, I don't
know what to look for or what to expect....

There are 10 Road Examples located here:

Have you called support? They are usually pretty good at walking you
through a procedure. You might want to consider some training.

thanks for that address, that should prove to be helpful. I have
condsidered the training, but the cost and time committment are prohibitive
for now...
