Civil3d points and Carlson F2F symbols

I am using F2F with Carlson 2008 to generate my linework & symbols. Our engineering side is using Civil3d and they like the way points are grouped & symbols inserted within the Civil3d template they have setup. They are telling me that with points in Civil3d they can rescale a drawing and all the symbols will scale appropriately. When they insert my linework & symbols, the symbols are only blocks and will not rescale if they change the scale within Civil3d. Should I just do linework in with F2F and let them import points & symbols. I am hitting a road block and dont know how to proceed.
