NODES CARLSON POINTS

Postby Chris McGinn » Wed Sep 28, 2005 4:04 am

Using 2006 Survey and Field it appears that the points
draw(Symbol,PNTNO,PTDESC,PNTELEV) have three nodes one at the point, one on
PNTNO and another on PNTDESC.
If I then draw a line with NODE set as OSNAP three points could be found. I
need to zoom in and ensure that I select the correct point.
Have I got a setting wrong.
Survcadd 2006 works fine.

I believe this an autocad thing, or bug. It recognizes text or

attributes as a node, as well as the node at the block insert. I turn
off the node osnap and use the center of the circle as the snap point.

I know what you mean.

I was used to LDD, where you can click anywhere on the point object and it
would snap to the actual point location - where you actually want the line
to be drawn to/from.

With Carlson, I usually draw the lines by point number - which is easier to
do than in LDD.

AutoCAD 2004 introduced this behavior for the node osnap. In AutoCAD
2006 they have added a variable (osnapnodelegacy) setting that will
prevent this behavior. In Survey i suggest turning off the node osnap
and turning on the Point Object Snap located under the Settings
pulldown. Hope this helps.
