What I typically do is edit the lintype file and add a custom one. You can open this file up in notepad as it is nothing more than a text file. You can find this in:
C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Carlson Software\Carlson Survey 2010\R2010\enu\Support in Windows XP or
C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Carlson Software\Carlson Survey 2010\R2010\enu\Support in Windows 7 or Vista
The file name that you are looking for is "SURV.lin"
You can copy and paste an existing lintype within the file and edit it to suit your needs. Please let me know if you need help with this and I will be happy to clarify.
