I've encountered a small problem when using the "Draw Text On Arc" command
(annotate -> annotate arc -> draw text on arc). This leads to a dialog box
entitled "Create Text on Arc," in which there is an entry box for "Text
String."

The problem that I'm having is that whenever I use a special character
string (specifically, %%d), the character string doesn't convert to the
"decimal degree circle," as it does with normal text entry. Instead, my
chord bearing comes out as in the following example:
CH BRG=S 54%%d44'35" E

Can anyone tell me of either an enviornment variable setting, or maybe a
setting in a dialog box somewhere within the program that with rectify this
problem for me?

Why not use ° for the degree symbol?
