While using Carlson Survey 2004, sometimes (intermittently) we are loosing
all coordinates in a coordinate file. An example of what happens is as
follows:

While listing coordinates the coordinates are listed. Then immediately
after
listing the coordinates, using the coordinate file utilities point number
report, the report shows 0 coordinates in the coordinate file. Using
windows
exporer to check the file size of our coordinate file now shows 1kb, which
a
backup copy of the coordinate file is 33kb.

The scenerio described above is not the only time coordinates are lost
from
a coordinate file. Sometimes while listing coordinates the coordinates are
listed fine, then later if coordinates are listed the coordinates will be
gone.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Kennie, I put one of my best on this. I am going to have him try
different
settings in the object linking and different formats of the crd file, some
with gaps, alpha numeric point numbers and the like. If you don't mind,
please let me know what you have set in the Object Linking settings
located
in the Configure>General Settings dialog. Also do these files typically
have point gaps? Are the point ids numeric or alphanumeric? Hopefully we
can come up with something as i know you have been battleing with this for
a
while.

Barkley,

The Object Linking settings are unchecked on two computers and on one
computer only the link points is checked.
These files typically do have point gaps (gaps in point numbers).
Point ids have been set to numeric, up until a few days ago, now we have
set
to alphanumeric, but does not appear to have helped as we have lost
coordinates since we made the change.
