Carlson Survey Desktop - Importing CR5 file

If I import a TDS cr5 file into a drawing using CSD and the description of
the point has a forward slash in it, everything before and including the
forward slash is ignored. Does anyone have an idea as to why this might
happen? My CSD Build is dated 4/29/04 and I'm using it with LDD 2005.
Thanks!

Paul,

I attempted to duplicate your findings here but was unable to do so. My
import went fine. However I created a cr5 file from an existing crd
file that I had here. It might be better for me to have your file to
test with. Just drop me an email with the file attached and I will be
glad to take a look at it.

The forward slash (/) is used in Carlson's field to finish to allow for
an additional description to be added to a point with a defined code.
For example if you have a code of PP (Power Pole) and the code is
defined to draw say Power Pole for the description when drawing the
points on the screen, if the program encounters a description of PP/KY
Utilities #1656, then the resulting point when drawn to the screen will
have a point description of Power Pole Ky Utilities #1656.

Send me your file and I will check yours out if you want.
