What are the limitations to XREF's?

I would expect to be able to change the color of XREF layers and have them
display as such in my drawing, but nothing seems to happen. Is that how it
is supposed to be in Carlson Survey?

Also, is there a way to list XREF entities such as XLIST?

The layer color change does work correctly....I was a victim of too many
layers named way too much alike.

How about the Xlist function? Is there a way to find out which layer of the
Xref'd drawing an entity is on so that it can be frozen, etc. Or can the
FREEZE Options be added to Survey 2006?
