What happens to Standalone now that Autodesk gave the boot?

Since Autodesk gave OEM's the boot, what will become of Carlson Survey Standalone? Doesn't this affect C&G too? Does this mean Standalone will go bye, bye? Will you choose some other company's CAD engine? Hopefully it will be multi-platform (mac OSX, Linux).

They did not "boot" the OEM. The only change to the OEM was a price increase. We will have our software for other CAD engines very soon and we will also maintain it on an AutoCAD OEM.

That's good news

cool! I guess that is good news and bad (price).
Any word on what OS systems?

Like I said, it is an excellent product.

I hope the new engine will still be able to create compatible dwg files. This has been one of the great advantages of Standalone. Many of my clients request a dwg file. Autocad is very dominant in the market and compatibility is a big concern.

Our 2009 will be available on Intellicad version 6. You will be able to open and save .DWG file with no problem. Hopefully we will be able to offer this at a lower price also.
