First of all, which version of Survey are you using, which Windows OS and
what type of plotter? If your plotter is an HP DesignJet and you are using
Survey 2004 or later, you will definitely need to be using the optimized
drivers, available from hp.com. The following link outlines the procedure
to update the printer driver:

Another thing that can sometimes cause very slow plotting is the use of
TrueType text fonts. If the above procedure doesn't speed up the plotting
in a satisfactory manner, try setting all of your fonts to *.shx.

It seems that some of the very simple drawings we have here are taking
forever to print (up to 30min if at all) we have been trying different
drivers and settings but to no avail.. The drawings are spooling up to
about 4MB for the drawings with only line work and much higher if we have
any raster images in them... Any one else run into this problem? What
drivers are you using? Are you plotting from Carlson or thru the windows
printer?
Thanks,
-Kris
