What do you use for location maps in your plats? Anyone run across something that stays in the file and is not attached as a raster attachment? Thanks for your help.

I usually create a bitmap or jpeg of the area from County GIS map. I then inset it into the vicinity map block on my drawing (paperspace). I scale it to fit and then trace and label the major roads and highways and mark the site with a star and label THIS SITE. It only takes a few minutes, but it looks more professional than a raster image. Many times I have jobs in the same area, so all I have to do is copy, paste and move the star and site label.

Hope this helps.

I forgot...of course, you detach the image (bitmap or jpeg) at some point.
