Linetype generation

When I draw a polyline with either very short distances between vertices or
smooth it I lose the "look" of the linetype I have chosen for that line.

Using dashed linetype for instance and because of the lengths of the
segments in the polyline, lots of the pline are shown as continuous rather
than dashed. I know that I can get back to a "normal" look by doing a
"properties" on it and enabling "linetype generation".

My question is, can I make this the default so I don't have to go through
this every time I draw one of these... which in my case, is often.

Wayne,

Go to the Settings pulldown and then to Set Environment Variables at the
bottom. From here find and select PLINEGEN from the list. Change the
value to 1 and then select change under the Variable label near the
bottom right of the dialog. After this if you want this to be the
setting in any new drawing then save the drawing as the survey template
file. Do this by typing saveas and then changing the files of type to
drawing template. I hope this helps.

Thanks Barkley, exactly what I was looking for.
