dwg to dgn (MicroStation) conversion
Posted: Mon Oct 12, 2009 10:55 pmDoes anyone out there do dwg to dgn conversion? If so, is it in the Carlson 2009 Embedded Autocad version?
Terry, most of us do not do the conversion because our Intergraph clients are all on at least V8 or later. V8 and above no longer require the conversion as they can open and work in a dwg file. Our folks can then save that file as a dgn with little or no effort. They tell me that conversion is more accurate.
I say all of that in order to say that conversion may not be in future releases because it is becomming unnessary. (Trying to remember back to my 2009 trainning class, I think the dwg to dgn conversion routine is in that package. Seems like it was pointed out in the class, but we did not have the time to run through it. Carlson has a track record od maintaining compatability with as many platforms as possible.)
